In my last journal I went into detail about how my full time job is no longer supporting me because of the virus. Last year job problems put my business on hold right before the holiday season, and I started this year off with only $130 in my account to get it back on track. I don't want to do that again. Amber Hollows is just beginning to recover from my last job crisis, and has a lot of cool new projects rolling out this year. It's time to just accept my annual job crisis as a normal seasonal event and keep creating. (Sorry, you'll have to excuse a bit of the salt I spilled there. I'll try to put my professional sculptor face back on) (inhale) SO! What's new? I'll need to get around to posting some devs about it, but my Mimics are now available for custom order in 3 new sizes officially (and one new size unofficially). I know I'm not the only one in the world who feels this way, but this f*ing year T-T I was doing so well in January, had a lot of plans, was considering going back to college, creating an emergency fund, my husband about to pay off his car, my etsy business starting to ramp up while I got a promotion at my dream job at a greenhouse. Now because of the virus, it feels like all of that is gone. It's a hyperbole to say that I've lost everything, when I think logically I know things are roughly fine, but it does feel like I just reached the end of a really tough game level just to glitch through the world and find myself stuck at the bottom again. It's my birthday today, and it's been ok despite everything (I have my husband to thank for that), but I just found out from my boss two days ago that he cannot afford to pay me my manager wage anymore. Despite being "essential," the greenhouse sells high-end health superfoods primarily to restaurants and smoothie bars, most of which are closed

The last 4 months have been slow due to job problems. I now work as a manager at a greenhouse and it means the world to me to finally have job security and financial stability. My new job is tiring, and a decent amount of hard work, but I'm so much happier working there than I have been at any of my previous jobs in retail. As a result, I'm trying to get back into the swing of things with my business. The loss of several productive (seasonal) months (right after a major investment) has all but crippled by profits from the previous year, leaving me with only $100 in profit to start this year off. It's not much, but it's enough to build a small inventory to get the ball rolling and I'm still confident in my purchase of an airbrush set last year as a means of speeding up and improving my Mimic production. I've also spent a considerable amount of time tweaking my computer Keychain Mimic models to produce a new, smaller, and better quality model to present before the end of this month. I
